HOLDERNESS, NH — Eric Turchon, a new sales agent in the Holderness office of Badger Peabody & Smith Realty, admits that he is a "work hard, play hard" type of agent.

A resident of the Granite State since 2007, he has embraced "its authentic lifestyle and its many recreational opportunities," like boating on Squam Lake, snowboarding at Loon Mountain and hiking all 48 4,000 footers. "I love sharing my passion and knowledge of the area with my clients." he says.

Turchon graduated with a business degree from Plymouth State University. He gained years of valuable sales and customer service experience working as a buyer/manager in the snow sports industry. His background as a freelance photographer has also been an asset to his real estate career bringing "a creative element to my workflow."

Turchon was previously a successful agent at another real estate company, but joined Badger Peabody & Smith Realty after sitting down with Andy Smith, the company's President, and listening to his business philosophy. "I wanted to join a firm that has a reputation for results but also values elements like caring and consistency and giving back to the community, as well as accountability," he says. "That appeals to me."

"We're delighted to welcome Eric to the Badger Peabody & Smith team," says Smith. "His strong background in real estate and customer service and his in-depth knowledge of the Holderness and the surrounding region are invaluable qualities that will benefit our buyers and sellers."

ashland, nhFrom The Sellers of 194 River Street, Ashland, NH

Here's are just a few things that I love about our 194 River Street property:
  • It's a quaint home nestled on a hill, its quiet. You can hear the birds softly eating at our bird feeder, while relaxing on the deck.
  • We love planning the day ahead – whether we should walk across the street to our beach & dock rights. Or should we go kayaking or take the boat out on Squam Lake? (Otherwise known as "On Golden Pond").
  • After the day on the lake we can unwind in the hot tub while watching the Red Sox or Patriots on the big screen TV.
  • I love the house because it is low cost taxes for water rights without the high cost of waterfront property. Plus it is warmer up here on the hill! And very quiet and safe.
  • ashland, nhThe Ashland police department has a very dedicated staff to ensure safety and they go out of their way to keep tabs on the river front properties.
  • In addition, we love that the cost of heating the home is low. The downstairs, where the hot tub is, is always warm. Partly from the hot tub, but as well as the dehumidifiers which help to keep it warm.
  • It's a low maintenance hot tub.
  • And it's an easy house for a pit stop if you have kids in school as it's close to Ashland Elementary  & Plymouth Regional High School.

A Chat With Our Home Seller in Ashland, NH

Holderness NH Homes for SaleWe are pleased to bring a new feature to our blog, a chat with our seller in Ashland, NH. Our homeowners at 613 NH Route 175 in Ashland, NH have owned this property for over 30 years, and now offer this privately situated home just ready for you to finish to your liking. P&S: Tell us, why did you choose this location in Ashland, NH? Seller: We wanted to own a place where we could have perfect privacy, surrounded by nature, which always appealed to us. My husband, Bert, wanted to be close to an airport - we owned a private plane at the time. So the close proximity to Plymouth Regional Airport was a plus. In fact, while I would drive up often times, he would fly up, he'd fly over the land, tip his wings, and that was my signal to drive over to the airport and pick him up! For me, I wanted to be near a place that offered the feel of a 'city'. With Plymouth College, now an accredited University, so close by, it would offer us what we felt we needed to keep our minds active and current. Our children were still young at the time and the possibility of using the excellent school system there could have been real. But that did not work out. P&S: You have a very unique home. At this point, it's just waiting to be finished by a new owner. How did you decide to build on the land? Holderness NH Homes for SaleSeller: The idea of building a retirement home came up eventually. Bert was smitten with the idea of building his dream home. Our future home was to be carefully designed and structurally solid. We checked every 2x4 at the lumberyard for its integrity during the construction of the garage. He also kept fuel economy in mind and calculated the suns angle of infiltration and built the overhang accordingly. It is the kind of shell that would never need to be repaired. P&S: So at this point, the shell is ready, and you await a buyer who will turn what you have helped create into a special home for them. What are some other things you love about the Ashland area? Seller: Well, the proximity to the airport is great! In addition, we enjoyed being close to the White Mountain Country Club. It's just a great community with so many things to do from skiing at Waterville Valley or Loon Mountain in the winter, to boating and swimming at Squam Lake in the summer, or any of the other beautiful lakes. A wonderful four season recreation area!
