The History of our Name: Badger Peabody & Smith Realty

In business, as in real estate, we always want to be looking forward. Therefore, it makes it hard to write a piece about our history—as it represents the past. But to see the road ahead, you have to reflect.

Our name, Badger Peabody & Smith Realty, was announced on February 1, 2022, after two highly respected brands—Badger Realty and Peabody & Smith Realty—completed a merger the previous year. Both firms were market leaders in their respective areas, from the Mt. Washington Valley through Central New Hampshire, the Western White Mountains, and the North Country.

After a yearlong discovery process involving a national branding firm, we created the Badger Peabody & Smith Realty brand that you know today. While we honor the legacy and reputation of both founding families, the firm is independently owned and led by Andy Smith, our sole broker/owner. Andy is an on-site, active broker/owner, licensed in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. He engages with our clients, customers, agents, and staff every day, embodying our forward-thinking values and commitment to the communities we serve.
