Seller Q&A: 68 Ridge Road, Ashland, NH | Badger Peabody & Smith RealtyWe are pleased to bring a new feature to our blog, a chat with one of our current sellers in Ashland, NH. Our homeowners at 68 Ridge Road, Ashland, NH, have owned their home for many years, and now offer this modern farmhouse named "Hearthome" overlooking Squam Lakes and the White Mountains.

We talked to the homeowners to get a sense of what it's like to live in Squam River Landing in Ashland.

P&S: You feel the time is right to leave the beautiful Squam River Landing community. What led you to this decision?

Sellers: We wanted to be closer to the seacoast, where we both have relatives and a new work opportunity in Epping.

P&S: Why is it great to live in Squam River Landing? What did you enjoy about the Squam Lakes area?

Side 68 Ridge Road Ashland NHSellers: The neighborhood is wonderful and surrounded by hiking paths, and even the nearby Ashland Town beach on Little Squam. It's very quiet with amazing views differing every day.

P&S: Where do you shop and dine in the Ashland/Holderness community, and why do you enjoy those places?

Sellers: Walter's Basin in nearby Holderness is the gathering spot for many of us joining by car, walking/skiing (during the winter), and even by boat with the pier on Little Squam.

The nearby Towns of Meredith and Center Harbor are less than 30 minutes away, where restaurants, clothing, bookstores, and even Mount Washington cruises leave from.

P&S: What did you look forward to the most when you came to your home in Squam River Landing?

Sellers: The views and solitude of living on top of the world

Sellers: Plenty! We enjoy theater (Winnipesaukee Playhouse in Meredith; Jean's Playhouse in Lincoln), live music (Hermit Woods in Meredith), and church services on Church Island during the summer. In addition, we are located near many world class ski resorts!

P&S:  What events brought you the most pleasure?

Sellers: Hiking trails with my dog, skating, and cross-country skiing on the frozen lakes.

P&S: What were the favorite features of your home? What did you enjoy the most?

Sellers: The copious windows allow you to feel like you're IN nature, not separated from it. A warm fire, either in the dual-sided wood fireplace or even the gas fireplace in the primary bedroom, completes the feeling of luxury camping in your own home!
