Sometimes progress seems slow. And when building a home there are definitely ducks that need to be in a row. And the ducks are certainly in place at Rockwood in Ledgewood.
The lot is cleared and de-stumped. Rocks have been moved so that they are out of the way. The home site adjusted slightly. (Read about Dick and Nancy's adventures with the unmovable boulder!) And the hills are all green and lush. The next step is to get ready to prepare for the foundation to be poured. And of course that is all weather related. Although it hasn't been...
Sometimes I forget how fortunate I am for growing up here. I took for granted so many simple things. As my family has grown older, and I've taken friends and family on area tours I realize just how lucky I am to have grown up here and to raise my family here. For me, I am all about summer and all the summer fun things we can all do. And there is never enough time to fit it all in –you know that pesky work thing slips in once in a while.
As an established real estate agent who has specialized on Squam Lake in NH for a large part of my career, every now and again we see something that just surprises and amazes us - and it happened this past week! Last Sunday, I was visiting with some friends on their screen porch and enjoying the peace and quiet of Bean Cove on Squam. It's a special place and the only sound we could hear were the songs of the two Loons sitting and fishing in front of the lodge. But then, out of nowhere, a bald eagle swooped down to get his share of the fish. What an incredible sight to witness! I was telling another friend, that in all my time on Squam, I have never seen a Bald Eagle, and certainly not one fishing! Squam Lake - full of wonder & beauty! Welcome to summer! It's a wonderful time of year in New Hampshire. With so many fun outdoor activities and beautiful weather, we are lucky to call this place "home". We thought we'd start a new series called, "My Ideal Day" and ask our agents about some of the fun things they like to do each season. First up to bat: Jerry Love
