Welcome to Chapter 8 of the epic home-building saga: Building Rockwood. The photos below are from mid-September, and obviously the house has progressed immensely since then!  But, I am very much a summer person, and must say, I remember this day very well. It was a crisp, blue-sky day and unseasonably warm. The gentleman that are building this beautiful home have gotten used to me showing up and they try to scatter so they are not in the pictures - usually they do pretty well.  But I assure you the weather that day was warm enough that they needed water to keep cool and hydrated through the day. The entire exterior of this home will have the Zip system - a water proof plywood.  It will be used on the entire exterior, as well as the roof, too. It provides added protection during the construction process to keep the home watertight and preserves the natural beauty of the exposed timbers.  All of the seams and joints get taped with a rubber membrane for an even tighter constru...
