We talked to the homeowners to get a sense of what it's like to live in Squam River Landing in Ashland.
P&S: You feel the time is right to leave the beautiful Squam River Landing community. What led you to this decision?

If you agree with our real estate agents that there's no such thing as too much ice cream, you're in luck. Spring brings forth some great ice cream parlors, shops, and stands around New Hampshire, the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, and Maine.
The spring months are a wonderful time of year to get out and explore. Burbling brooks, rushing waterfalls, quaint covered bridges, and trees bursting into bloom make this a delightful time of year to take a road trip around the region or plan a trip to a sugarhouse to learn how maple syrup is made.
Spring is also the perfect season to hit the slopes or trails unencumbered by heavy jackets, hats, and mittens to enjoy a day or two — or more — of endless blue skies, soft snow, and sweetly scented air.

Town Meeting Day happened recently, so I heard lots of chatter from folks in the town I reside in, work in, and the others that surround both of those places. I will admit—a bit sheepishly—that I was not well-informed on what was up for vote in my town, but I made a vow to prioritize being educated on it for next year. However, I heard from a friend of mine who lives in the town over that they were voting on some sort of zoning amendment regarding regulations around what could be left out and visible in landowners' yards.
I have to say, I was a bit surprised by this. In the land of Live Free or Die, I kind of just always figured you could keep whatever you wanted in your yard, within reason of course. I suppose the whole "within reason" part is why ord...
