Plymouth, NH – A celebration was held recently for the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration of the area's newest restaurant, La Familia Mexican Bar and Grill, on Tenney Mountain Highway. As traffic rolled by, passersby honked horns welcoming the new owners to Plymouth.

For owners, Leo & Alexa Vazquez, the opening of their own restaurant is the realization of a dream and that hard work pays off.

Leo Vazquez said, "I've worked in the restaurant business for over fifteen years, I love seeing everyone happy with a great meal, being with family, friends and having a nice time out. For Alexa and I, our dream was to own and operate our own restaurant after running Cielito's in Bristol for the last four years, we realized that having our own restaurant would be a dream come true."

For the Vazquez family, the name of the restaurant – La Familia is extra special. Leo Vazquez shared before the ribbon cutting the name is significant as they think of their employees as part of the family – many of them have worked with Leo and Alexa for many years. They all worked in tandem getting La Familia renovated and getting the restaurant operations up and running smoothly. In addition, Alexa's mother has helped the family with taking care of the kids and the family. For the Vazquez family, La Familia is a special name as they think of everyone as family – patrons and staff.

Alexa & Leo added, "All of us at La Familia thank our customers who have become our friends and now family, we appreciate all the support. We are very thankful for all the help and very happy to be in Plymouth."

La Familia Mexican Bar and Grill opened to much fanfare just after Labor Day and has been hosting a full house every night since the opening. Leo said, "We have a great menu in place, and will be adding more specialty items to our authentic Mexican cuisine soon. We enjoy creating authentic food from the finest ingredients and adding in some Cuban influences and spices as well."

La Familia Mexican Bar and Grill is located at 588 Tenney Mountain Highway in Plymouth and is open Noon to 10 pm daily.
