Yesterday marked the 65th anniversary of the United Nations Monetary & Financial Conference which set the groundwork for international monetary cooperation. This historic event attended by 730 delegates from 44 nations, was held at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. The Resort was reportedly selected because its remote location offered seclusion and security was easily managed. Certainly the spectacular setting must have sealed the choice. It is hard to imagine the magnitude of such an event right in my own backyard! Not much has changed in 65 years. Today we still enjoy the same seclusion, security and breathtaking backdrop of Mount Washington, and the natural beauty of this area.
