After nine years of living at 281 Oak Hill Ave, we are sharing what we have loved most about the property and the community. We hope our answers give future buyers a personal view of everyday life in one of northern New Hampshire's most welcoming small towns.

Where is your home located?

Our home is at 281 Oak Hill Ave in Littleton, New Hampshire. Near downtown Littleton, in a White Mountains setting, near schools, parks and PRKR Mountain trails. With a pool, deck and custom primary bathroom and convenience to skiing at Cannon, Loon Mountain and Bretton Woods.

What area or region is your home in, and what have you enjoyed most about it?

Our home is in northern New Hampshire, "Above the Notch" in the White Mountains, near Loon Mountain and Bretton Woods. We have especially enjoyed the mountain setting, outdoor recreation and proximity to downtown Littleton.

How long have you lived in your home, and what special features have you enjoyed?

We have lived in this home for nine years and have enjoyed raising our family here. Being in a safe neighborhood close to the park and schools has made life easier during busy sports seasons because our children could walk to practice or carpool with friends. Our home has also been a fun gathering place where friends could cool off in the pool, barbecue on the deck during the summer and spend time together throughout the year.

What did you look forward to most when coming home?

In winter, I loved coming home to the sunny living room, switching on the gas fireplace and quickly settling into a cozy space. The natural light coming through the living-area windows helped make winter feel bright and welcoming.

Why is now the right time to move?

This is not an easy home for us to leave. We will miss the nearby trails, our kind neighbors and the proximity to Littleton's quintessential New Hampshire downtown. My husband has commuted an hour and a half to and from work throughout our time here, and our daughters have become increasingly involved with a wonderful dance studio in the same direction. When we found a home closer to both, we felt it was the right time to make a move. I will especially miss our professionally designed custom primary bathroom.

Where do you like to shop and dine in the community?

I love shopping, and downtown Littleton has a tremendous selection of locally owned stores. For gifts, I like Maison Boheme, White Mountains Canning and the Littleton Village Toy and Book Shop. For special-occasion women's fashion, I enjoy Bella Funk. My children love stopping at Chutters for a treat, and we shop at Lahout's Discount Store for activewear. My husband and I often walk downtown to Schilling's for a quick date night. We also enjoy authentic takeout from Taste The Thai & Sushi House and lunch or dinner at Chang Thai.

What cultural events and seasonal activities do you recommend?

We especially recommend the annual Fourth of July fireworks at Remich Park. The show is outstanding every year.

What community experiences have brought you the most pleasure?

The community at our downtown gym, Littleton CrossFit, has been especially meaningful to us. The gym brings people together for special gatherings and physical challenges that help us connect and appreciate all that we have.

What tips would you give someone new to the community?

Find something you enjoy doing outside during the winter. Snowshoeing is a great entry-level activity that almost anyone can try. The groomed fat-biking trails on nearby PRKR Mountain offer a higher-skill adventure. Whatever activity you choose, getting outside can make winter feel invigorating and help you appreciate the beauty of the season.
