Outdoor Pursuits: ATV Rentals in the White Mountains | Badger Peabody & Smith

Fall is great for going off-roading in the White Mountains. Especially if you've just moved to the area, it's the perfect opportunity to get an all-terrain vehicle, get out into nature, and explore your new surroundings. Where can you rent one, though? Fortunately, our real estate agents are big ATV fans, too! We can help you find the best ATV rental spots and give you safety tips to ensure your trip goes smoothly.

ATV Safety Tip

  • Share the Off-Road. The trail you explore may also be used by hikers, cyclists, equestrians, and local wildlife. In a vehicle, it's your responsibility to keep a close eye out for others and share the area respectfully.

  • Protective Gear. While you don't need a motorcycle license to operate an ATV, you need roughly the same safety equipment. Always ride with a well-fitting motorcycle helmet, long pants, sturdy boots, gloves, and a jacket to protect you against any airborne debris at high speeds.

  • Know Your Limits. Be aware of your own skill and experience level on the ATV, and the experience levels of your family members as well. Don't try to do fancy tricks or maneuver through difficult places if you don't have the training and experience to do so. Know what the vehicle is capable of, too, and don't push it beyond its limits. Always drive at a reasonable speed and never, ever go off-roading while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Plan Ahead. Be sure to bring a first aid kit, bottled water, and a whistle to signal for help if you get lost or injured. And remember, you may not get cell service, so always let someone know what area you'll be exploring, how long you plan to be gone, and about what time you'll be back so they'll know to send help if you don't check-in.

There's plenty to explore in and around the White Mountains. Contact us if you're ready to make New Hampshire your new home, and we'll help you find a house you'll love.
