Nikki Barrett

Fortune shined on us when Brendan Battenfelder became a part of our realty family as a new agent in the North Conway office back in 2010. His successes over the years have been many and it is our pleasure to share a little more about our amazing VP of Sales and Managing Broker at the North Conway office. Brendan is not only a good-natured and humorous team leader and industry resource, he is an active part of our community who brings out the best in others!

Learn more about Brendan Battenfelder and his journey in real estate.

Brendan, how did you land in Real Estate? And how long have you been an agent?

I initially got my real estate license in 2007 while teaching at a high school. It did not become a fulltime job for me until 2010.

What did you do before you became a real estate agent?

Many, many things. I was a wilderness guide, a USFS Trail crew member, a teacher, Easter Mountain Sports employee and a carpenter before I settled into real estate full time.

Name a role model who has inspired you in your career.

I was lucky to have a team at Badger Realty in my early years. The advantage I experienced and even see in our firm today is the ability to turn to anyone, in any office and ask for help. I was able to get multiple perspectives and a crowd of ideas from our entire office. I certainly learned from Dick Badger and Brenda Leavitt how to treat our clients with the highest level of professionalism. Karla Badger was my mentor which was typically a 1 year partnership for new agents. 12 years on I am still learning from her with a few lessons still sinking in. The collective support and guidance from our real estate family is unlike any other firm.

What do you like to do for fun outside of work?

I love to play outside in so many ways. Skiing, sledding, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking and climbing, horses and campfires. Where ever I can chase my kids through the woods. If there is a way to adventure outside, I am up for some fun.

Where do you like to go for vacation?

We vacation on both sides of the scale. Island beach getaways to remote wilderness area canoe trips. We are equally happy poolside at a resort or 7 days deep into the woods with a loaded canoe.

What's your favorite part of being in real estate?

I love the diversity of the people. From the New England real estate ups and downs, to the joys and struggles of buying and selling a home. Working with new people on a frequent basis keeps the job fresh. In my role as Vice President of Sales, I absolutely love the ability to say "let me help you" when working with our sales team. From a quirky transaction to growing a skillset, I pride myself in letting our sales team know that we are here everyday to support them as they support their clients.

What is your favorite local charity?

We are blessed to have so many amazing charities in the region. Locally I am continually impressed with Jen's Friend Cancer Foundation and the support offered to families. A more recent charitable creation in the Mount Washington Valley is the Way Station. I have been impressed at their direct approach to assisting the local homeless population. They create solutions to match needs as diverse as they come with innovating and direct supports.
