ice cream standsAs the most delicious way to support local dairy farmers, ice cream in Central New Hampshire is a big deal. We've picked three of the best ice cream stands in Central NH that you won't want to skip this summer!

Sawyer's Dairy Bar, Gilford

Sawyer's has been making its ice cream in-house for over 70 years. Despite this long tenure, there's always something new for Gilford residents to try. Sawyer's offers a huge variety of flavors that get changed up on a weekly basis. Like many Central New Hampshire ice cream stands, Sawyer's also has a robust full food menu with everything from lobster rolls to cheeseburgers.

Jordan's Ice Creamery, Belmont

Like Sawyer's, Jordan's in Belmont makes its own in-house ice cream. However, Jordan's has "only" been serving its fabulous homemade ice cream to Central New Hampshirites for a little over two decades. This ice cream stand is one that specializes in ice cream and ice cream only — aside from a few sodas. There isn't a lobster roll on the menu, but Jordan's does have every variation of an ice cream-based treat you could imagine. Popular items include their specialty sundaes, thick frappes, and waffle ice cream sandwiches.

Frosty Scoops, Plymouth

A local Plymouth favorite, this tiny seasonal stand offers two dozen flavors of Common Man Homemade Ice Cream with no frills at low prices. Frosty Scoops is operated by the Launch Youth Entrepreneurship Program, which promotes job skill training for high schoolers through paid summer employment. Central New Hampshirites are all about ice cream and our summers are wonderful in the area.
