Our homeowners at 473 Jefferson Road have owned their home for many years, and now offer this nicely appointed and well-maintained home with in-law suite, many amenities, privacy and peaceful comfort to you. To get a sense of what is like to live in Whitefield, we asked a few questions:   P&S: At this time, you feel the time is right to leave the beautiful Whitefield, NH community. What led you to this decision? Sellers: Actually, we're moving to a new home only 3 miles away—on the other side of town. We're downsizing to a 55+ community to simplify in our retirement.   P&S: Why is it great to live in Whitefield, NH? What did/do you enjoy about the area? Sellers:  This is a wonderful community. Everyone is readily welcomed and you immediately feel a sense of belonging and inclusion. True small town America!   P&S:  Where do you shop and dine in the Whitefield community and why do you enjoy those places? Sellers: We are fortunate to be halfway between Lancaster and Littleton where one can locate any service of item needed. But our town also offers a grocery store, discount variety store, liquor store, and many other establishments—great convenience. For breakfast or lunch, Grandma's Kitchen is THE place where locals eat. For a fine dinner we love The Inn at Whitefield.   P&S: What did you look forward to the most when you come home to Whitefield? Sellers: Our goal was to find a community where we, as a family, could participate in a safe, peaceful environment. We were not disappointed.   P&S: What cultural events and other types of events can you recommend to people coming into the community? Sellers: Lions Club pancake breakfasts on the Common, summer band concerts on the Common, Community Days, The Weathervane Theatre, Patriotic celebrations, arts and crafts festivals, farmers markets and classic and antique car events are just some of the things to do in addition to ice skating on the Common and holiday events and numerous sports activities.   P&S:  What events brought you the most pleasure? Sellers: At one point or another, we participated in all of those listed whether individually or through church, school or community organization. Our personal favorite is the pancake breakfasts where we get together with friends and neighbors on the Common for great breakfast and visitation in the glorious summer Sunday mornings.   P&S:  What tips would you give to new people coming into the community? Sellers: Get involved! There is something for everyone. The more you reach out, the more you and your family will be blessed. This is an ideal place to live the American Dream.   P&S: What are the favorite features of your home? What have you enjoyed the most? Sellers: We have loved our home as our haven from the rest of the world. It is the stage upon which we have truly played out our American Dream. The amenities make it comfortable, functional, safe and peaceful. We love the outdoors so we've maintained the property in a park-like manner with both natural growth as a buffer against noise and traditional landscaping. Several decks and porches enhance the outside living along with the fenced courtyards for our pets. Privacy, views, comforts in all its features and the serendipity of visiting wildlife of all species—moose (even as I write this!!), bear, deer, foxes, birds of all kinds and many other animals who enjoy the natural habitat on site as well as the surrounding protected wetlands and forest.
