[caption id="attachment_3761" align="aligncenter" width="640"] All the boulders have been excavated and now it's time to start pouring the foundation.[/caption] Sometimes progress seems slow. And when building a home there are definitely ducks that need to be in a row. And the ducks are certainly in place at Rockwood in Ledgewood. The lot is cleared and de-stumped. Rocks have been moved so that they are out of the way. The home site adjusted slightly. (Read about Dick and Nancy's adventures with the unmovable boulder!) And the hills are all green and lush. The next step is to get ready to prepare for the foundation to be poured. And of course that is all weather related. Although it hasn't been a very wet summer, it seem like when it does rain, it really rains! From left to right you can see North Twin Mountain, South Twin Mountain, Garfield, Mt. Lafayette, Mt. Lincoln, Canon Mountain and they are all over 4,000 ft. With all the natural rocks that have been uncovered on this lot the plans of course have been adjusted to keep them as a part of the project and to incorporate them into the landscaping with beautiful rock walls and lining the edge of the forest. When they are done with the home and landscaping it's going to look like the house has always been there. And the home has now been aptly named "Rockwood". Soon the timbers will be milled for the interior. There is a lot of work and planning and precise work when building a timber frame home. But, more about that next time. Lots of decision are being thoughtfully planned out. To learn more about this under-construction home, give our office a call!
