Buying a home is the American dream. But, the "ultimate" dream is to build your home. As the market is making an upward turn, we're seeing that dream of building your own home happening more and more.
Our communities in New Hampshire are even seeing investors take an interest and build spec homes. As you enter this luxury development,
Ledgewood, you'll be awestruck with the views and more! Known for its vast mountain views of the White Mountain range, Ledgewood was created and the building of homes in it have been handled with the utmost of care to preserve the integrity and beauty of the land so that it can be enjoyed for many years to come. (More about that next time!)
One Journey
Dick and Nancy Gould have teamed up with Bruce Enderson of
Aurora Log homes and Timber frame to build a 2700 sq. ft. timber frame home with three bedrooms, four baths and a two car garage on 24 acres. The home has been named "Rockwood" and will be offered to consumers soon.
As with many projects that are labors of love, there are often surprises along the way--starting with just the clearing of the land! The team thought they had picked out the optimum view to take in as much of their surroundings as possible. However, a huge bolder was found! Because it was simply too large to move, they would either have to blast it or move the primary site. In the interest of the environment and staying within budget, the team opted to adjust their plans for where the house would sit, just a smidgeon. Luckily, almost regardless of where they ultimately place the home on the lot, there are lush forest and mountain views of the White Mountain National Forest.
Sometimes it's just not so pretty as you go along. Right now, the site is mostly tree stumps and rocks--but they're just getting started!
This is going to be an exciting project and one we invite you to learn more about! Call us today for more information.
