Peabody & Smith Agents at the 2016 Merrimack County Savings Bank Rock 'N Race

We had a number of agents and staff participate on May 19th at the 2016 Merrimack County Savings Bank Rock 'N Race in Concord, NH. The race is a 5K for runners and walkers, and benefits the Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care – they raise funds to insure that cancer patients receive the highest quality medical care and treatment options they need close to home at Concord Hospital Payson Center.
We had a great time, and as for us, only a part of our group participated in the actual race because there was heavy rain right before it started and our walkers got soaking wet before the start. But overall, our little team joined with 5,000 other racers who turned out in downtown Concord, NH and we started at the State House! The rain came down pretty hard before the race but by the time the gun went off it was very nice and we saw 2 rainbows!

There were 14 of us from Peabody & Smith that participated. Jerrod Mitchell from our Holderness office and his wife, Meredith ran with their daughters that are kindergarten and 1st grade! They were pretty nervous before it started, but they were very excited to cross the finish line! Our Broker/Owner Andy Smith's wife Jackie ran, this was her first 5k and she loved it! She says that she wants to do more of these types of activities!
I have run this race with my daughter for quite a few years now, and we love the fun food stations, 9 musical acts stationed through the course in downtown Concord, it really helps keep you motivated! After the event, there is a post-race feast on the State House lawn!
We are looking forward to participating again next year, and I have a feeling you'll see the Peabody & Smith Realty Running/Walking Team in the future at other 5Ks!
