nikki barrettYou might look at these pictures and think, "There is NO WAY her desk looks like this!" I assure you, 95% of the time it does.  I'm a Type A personality and I have lists of lists and organization is something that comes naturally to me and is something that helps me be a great agent. As most Americans, we spend much of our time working.  I joke that I see my work "family" more than my real family, but it's true!  While not all of our time is spent in the office at our desks, a good portion is.  I am at ease in my office surrounded by things that remind me why I do my job – thank you notes and cards from past customers and clients; comical signs that make me smile when it's been "one of those days"; and of course the important things that help me keep on track and stay organized: calendar, IPad, phones (yes, cell phone and office phone – sometimes ringing at the same time!), important phone numbers, sticky notes and files – color coded of course!  I can tell anyone where anything is at my desk if I'm out of the office – that makes work life less stressful! I find myself taking a moment several times a day to gaze at some of the other important things on my desk – things in my life that are special to me – mostly photos of my family and our beloved 15 ½ year old yellow lab, Luke who passed away in November.  He was a sidekick on showings and caravans and even in the office at times before the stairs got to be too much.  Many customers, clients and area professionals came to look for him in my car on appointments.  I am thankful our office and my job allowed me to have him with me … there was never a dull moment! I'm extremely lucky to love my job and my work family!  We eat lunch together every day and find out what's going on with each other outside the office.  It's a fantastic work environment and I wouldn't trade it for anything else … unless maybe it was the winning Powerball ticket! nikki barrett           To learn more about Nikki, click here.
