Welcome to fall, it's a wonderful time of year here in New Hampshire! With so many fun outdoor activities and amazing colors that change before our eyes, we are lucky to call this place "home". We thought we'd ask one of our agents, what are some of the fun things that you like to do? Where are they? How much does it cost?

Karen Walsh tells us more!

karen walshI love to go for long walks with my new pup! She and I will quite often take off out our door and walk over to the Mad River Swimming Hole (the Eddie) which runs parallel to Rte 49 in Thornton. Or we go up the Smart's Brook Trail off Rte 49 in Thornton (on the way out to Waterville Valley) on your right before the "the six mile bridge." They are right in my neighborhood and easy to access on foot. Cost is Free! There is so much to enjoy for free in the White Mountains - it shouldn't be overlooked.   Another great hike that might take you a couple of hours would be up Welch and Dickey in Thornton. [caption id="attachment_3284" align="alignleft" width="163"]puppy My puppy![/caption] You can access that off Orris Rd from the Upper Mad River Rd in Thornton.   Park your car at the trailhead and hike up Welch Mtn. It takes about ½ hr or so, maybe 40 minutes, and the views at the top are SPECTACULAR! A very rewarding hike! Then after a break head over and across to Dickey Mtn (some hands and feet climbing required) to begin your descent back down to the parking lot. That may take you about 40 minutes. Truly one of the best hikes in the area as it is most rewarding with the views! Those are just a couple suggestions I have for you to enjoy this time of year or anytime of the year up here in our beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire! Read more about Karen Walsh here
