Washington[/caption] For many nature lovers, fall is the perfect time to hike outdoors while surrounded by natural beauty. Few natural landscapes are more eye-catching and beautiful than New Hampshire's Mt. Washington. Mt. Washington is not only the highest peak of New Hampshire's White Mountains, it is actually the tallest peak in the entirety of the northeast United States. Climbing to the top of Mt. Washington can be relatively simple (although no climb to the top of a mountain peak can truly be described as a walk in the park) or difficult depending on your hiking preferences. The easiest trail to the top is the Jewell trail, although the trail is longer than other trails (a little over 10 miles) due to the fact that the trail is not very steep. A more intermediate option is the widely trafficked and popular tourist hike, Tuckerman's Ravine. The trail is moderate in difficulty and relatively short in duration, but the steep climb is worth noting. Advanced hikers who want to avoid the heavily frequented Tuckerman's Ravine should opt for the Lion's Head trail. While similar in length to Tuckerman's (about 8.5 miles) it is a steeper and altogether more difficult hike that experienced hikers will love. This trail also provides some of the most rewarding views of Mt. Washington's natural beauty. [caption id="attachment_3249" align="alignright" width="300"]mt. washington Mt. Bring plenty of water and food options to stay hydrated and fed for the duration of the hike. Additionally, bring a map or some form of GPS navigation to ensure you cannot get lost, and bring first aid and flashlights to ensure you are fully prepared for your hiking adventure. White Mountains real estate near Mt. Washington is the best way to stay close to nature while enjoying incredible beauty from the comfort of your home. New Hampshire home buyers can contact Peabody & Smith Realty to find the perfect White Mountains property with stunning views and desirable amenities.
