This week we thought we'd ask a few probing questions of a staff member. This one is with Katy Soukup, who works out of our Franconia office. Our roving reporter Elspeth asked the questions:
What is your favorite restaurant in the area? The Little Grille in Bath, the burgers and staff are great!
Favorite board game? Apples to Apples & Guesstures.
The person that influenced you the most? I have to say 'people', my mother and father are tied!
What is your favorite thing to cook? I love cooking and seeing people enjoy the food! A big beef brisket dinner that simmers all day so the house smells delicious and a flour-less chocolate cake, because who doesn't like cake!
Favorite family tradition? Ladies Weekend with the women on my mom's side. Every year we have a weekend of activities and pampering.
What is your favorite winter activity? Snowshoeing in the quiet woods.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I love spending time outside, riding my cyclocross bike you notice and explore things that you wouldn't in a car.
What is your pet peeve? Irrational driving maneuvers.
Do you have pets at home? What are they? What are their names? We have three adopted household panthers. Opal is a black 10 year old, Fee is a three year old black and white cat, and Wilson, the two year old boy is a black cat with a green eye.
Do you like coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, tea mid day.
Do you prefer the Ocean or the Mountains? Mountains! I have lived near the ocean and it's beautiful but living in the mountains is the best! There is so much to do!
What is your ski mountain of choice? I grew up skiing at
Waterville Valley and know it so well.
