nikki barrettWe thought we'd ask a few probing questions each week of our agents. This one is with Nikki Barrett, who works out of our Littleton office. Our roving reporter Elspeth asked the questions:

I am currently reading? Gone Girl … need to read the book before you watch the movie! What is your favorite restaurant in the area? There are too many to pick just one … Bailiwick's in Littleton (Filets are fantastic and you have to try the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese (hold the egg!) and the fried pickles and Rosa Flamingo's in Bethlehem (awesome pizza, calzones and my all-time favorite is the Tortellini Carbonara). Schilling Beer Company has great home brews and you must order the daily hummus special! Looking for a great burger…hit up Topic of the Town and breakfast hits the spot at the Coffee Pot! Go to The Little Grille for the Chicken Brazilian Burger … I wrinkled my nose for over a year, now it's a favorite! (Can you tell I love to eat?!) Favorite board game? I like most games – Monopoly would be a good one for a rainy day and I love Cribbage and another card game my mom taught me called Aggravation. The person that influenced you the most? My mom and my oldest sister Your favorite song? Depends on my mood, but I'm a huge Dave Matthews Band fan What are you most proud of? My unexpected career in real estate! What is your favorite thing to cook? I love to cook! A few of my favorites are corn chowdah and lasagna, but I will try to cook anything at least once! Favorite family tradition? As we've all grown older, we decided to do away with traditional Christmas festivities. No gift exchanges and "Christmas Lists" and no traveling on Christmas morning. Instead, we celebrate by getting together for dinner either out at a restaurant or at one of our homes. We eat, drink and laugh with no stress of finding that perfect gift, rather just enjoying each other. What is your favorite winter activity? Booking a trip to the beach for the spring! What do you like to do in your spare time? As Siri often says, "I'm sorry, I do not understand your request"! What is your pet peeve? I've got a few…pour grammer and speling would be one (F7 on your keyboard, people – use it!) Do you have pets at home? What are they? What are their names? No "pets", just my "son" Luke – he's a 14.5 year old yellow lab who is my right-hand man and sidekick! Real Estate memory? "I could not believe the time that ______________________ happened". – SERIOUSLY?? Just ONE "You'll never believe what happened!" – This is a daily comment which is why I love my job so much! One of my earlier memories was showing a house on 18+ acres in Sugar Hill to 2 couples. As I'm walking through the field heading towards the apple orchard, I stopped and pointed a Momma Bear and her 3 cubs several hundred yards away. The ladies ran as fast as they could back to the house and the rest of us just watched as the mother escorted her little ones into the woods. Do you have a nickname? What is it and how did you get it? Technically, Nikki is a nickname (my birth certificate and all other legal documents say Nicole, but nobody with the exception of 1 cousin calls me that…occasionally my husband will call me Nicole when he needs to get my attention!) My brother calls me runt and always has – I'm the youngest of 4 … it's fitting! Do you like coffee or tea? Coffee … if you haven't been, you've got to go to Maia Papaya in Bethlehem and order up the Milky Way Espresso – YUM! Do you prefer the Ocean or the Mountains? Born and raised in the mountains, they never cease to amaze me, but I do love the ocean and wish we had one closer! For a more serious bio on Nikki, click here!
