Great outdoor weekend activities in Franconia Notch! One of the wonderful things about living in the Franconia, NH area is the close proximity we have to both Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest. There are thousands of acres of protected land with a multitude of recreation opportunities literally at our doorstep. This Friday, June 28th is a special day for our favorite State Park up in Franconia Notch. It is a 75th anniversary celebration of the Arial Tramway. First built in 1938, the Tramway was the first of its kind in North America and remains as a wonderful attraction today. The folks at Franconia Notch State Park have a full day of activities planned including free entry to the Flume Gorge, Echo Lake Beach and the Tramway for New Hampshire residents. There will also be a fireworks display from Echo Lake beach on Saturday evening. Here are the details.
