After a busy week of running around from showings and making calls to our customers, employees of Peabody & Smith Realty need a way to slow down and laugh! So this is what we do…… 3-2-1-GO! Time to unwind! We go ski race in our backyard, the White Mountains!  After all, what are we doing up here if we can't enjoy and laugh with each other at the end of the week. It usually goes like this: We group up to car pool from all of our offices to make the trek to Bretton Woods every Friday night of the winter. We meet up at the lodge, "boot up" and put on all our ski wear. Of course, as we do this, we talk business, though with a lighter note to it. We also make light of the chaos of week and realize that a cold drink, food and a night of skiing will resolve all our problems (at least for a few hours). And what a view! Every night we head up, it's a new look to the Mt. Washington range and was it ever beautiful this...

With ski areas from Bretton Woods to Waterville Valley, the White Mountains is a winter playground for skiers of all ability levels, including children. That's one reason why families choose White Mountains real estate for a first or second home. The other reasons are spring, summer, and fall, as homebuyers are pulled to the year-round recreational amenities and the beauty of the mountain setting. Kids who live in the White Mountains learn to ski early. If you're new to the area or are considering a move, here's a list of top ski programs for children.

As you can see from the photos, at the time I took these, the foliage was just about peak and it was so beautiful. So they were bringing in the big guns. They not only had a lift to put up some of the smaller beams but they had a crane on site as well to help with the placement of the larger and heavier beams.  It was an "all hands on deck" moment. [caption id="attachment_4088" align="aligncenter" width="576"]The large crane needed to lift the larger beams into place. The...

There is a great new store in Littleton, NH - Chickaroo - on the Corner of Main & Cottage Street, at the lights! I went in the other day, as Trisha has added to the inventory. There were a lot of interesting and VERY AFFORDABLE things to pick from! I love this store! If you've not been in yet, what are you waiting for? I was able to pick up some gifts for some closings coming up, some birthday gifts and a little something for me!! Stop by and say "Hi!" to Tricia...maybe Fred will be there, too! You'll be glad you did! Looking forward to going back again soon! We always begin our year with a time to reflect and celebrate the past year – this year was no exception as we celebrated our Peabody & Smith Realty team on Saturday, January 28th at the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, NH. We enjoy recognizing the hard work of our agents and staff and sharing some of the personal accomplishments they had as well. (This year we got to put some "new baby" photos up on the slide show – we always enjoy that!) The day started with a seminar for our agents and staff with national known and sought after speaker, Matt Ferrara. Matt has delivered more than a thousand seminars, retreats and training workshops in his career, and believes that "great ideas are the basis of great opportunity". Matt says, "I like to focus on innovative ideas whether they come from best practices in management, marketing and technology, or timeless ideas from history, science and art." We lo...
